Privacy Policy

Effective date: 27 July 2026 · Last updated: 27 July 2026

1. About This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Rendly AB processes information when you use Podistic.com, the Podistic application, and any related services, collectively referred to as the “Service.”

Podistic is a podcast discovery and listening service. It indexes and aggregates publicly available podcast feeds, metadata, artwork, descriptions, and audio links supplied by podcast publishers and podcast-hosting providers.

The Service allows users worldwide to search for and listen to podcasts in one place.

2. Who We Are

Podistic is operated by:

Rendly AB
Swedish organisation number: 559569-5577
Country of establishment: Sweden
Privacy contact: privacy@rendly.se

For the processing described in this Privacy Policy, Rendly AB is the data controller.

3. Information We Process

Podistic is designed to collect as little personal information as possible.

Users are not required to create an account to search for or listen to podcasts. Podistic does not maintain individual listening histories and does not monitor or record listening frequency.

3.1 Technical Information

When you connect to an online service, certain technical information must be processed to deliver the requested website, search result, podcast feed, image, or audio file.

This information may include:

  • Your Internet Protocol address;
  • Your browser or device type;
  • The requested page, file, or resource;
  • The date and time of the request;
  • Referring and destination addresses;
  • Basic diagnostic information; and
  • Error, fraud-prevention, or security information.

This information may be included in server, access, error, or security logs.

Podistic does not use technical information to create individual listener profiles, monitor listening habits, provide personalised advertising, or track users across unrelated services.

Ordinary server and access logs are retained for up to 365 days. Logs retained specifically for security, fraud prevention, incident investigation, or abuse prevention may be retained for up to two years, unless a longer period is required in connection with an active investigation, legal claim, or legal obligation.

3.2 Information You Provide When Contacting Us

When you contact Podistic by email or through another support channel, we may process:

  • Your name;
  • Your email address;
  • The contents of your message;
  • Information about the podcast, feed, episode, or issue you are contacting us about; and
  • Any other information you voluntarily provide.

We use this information to respond to your request, investigate a reported issue, manage a podcast listing, or address a legal, privacy, or technical matter.

Please do not include sensitive personal information in your communication unless it is necessary for us to address your request.

3.3 Podcast Information Supplied by Third Parties

Podcast titles, descriptions, artwork, episode information, author or host names, audio files, and related information are supplied by podcast publishers, public RSS feeds, podcast directories, or podcast-hosting providers.

This information is not collected from Podistic listeners. Podistic processes it to index, organise, display, and make podcasts searchable and accessible through the Service.

Information contained within a podcast or its accompanying metadata may include personal information about podcast hosts, guests, contributors, or other individuals. The relevant podcast publisher is responsible for the content it publishes and for having an appropriate legal basis to publish that information.

4. Why We Process Information

Where the General Data Protection Regulation, or GDPR, applies, we rely on the following legal bases.

4.1 Providing and Operating the Service

We process limited technical information where necessary to deliver Podistic pages, search results, images, podcast feeds, and audio playback.

The legal basis is our legitimate interest in providing and operating a functional podcast-discovery service and, where applicable, taking steps to provide a service requested by the user.

4.2 Security and Abuse Prevention

We may process technical and security information to:

  • Protect the Service;
  • Detect and prevent abuse;
  • Investigate errors or security incidents;
  • Prevent unauthorised access;
  • Maintain system reliability; and
  • Establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

The legal basis is our legitimate interest in operating a secure, reliable, and protected service.

4.3 Responding to Communications

We process information included in messages sent to us so that we can respond to questions, requests, complaints, listing issues, and removal requests.

The legal basis is our legitimate interest in communicating with users, podcast publishers, rights holders, and other interested parties. Where your communication concerns a contract or a request to enter into a contract, processing may also be necessary to take steps at your request.

4.4 Legal Compliance

We may process or disclose information where necessary to:

  • Comply with a legal obligation;
  • Respond to a binding request from a competent public authority;
  • Enforce our legal rights;
  • Protect the rights or safety of Podistic, its users, or other parties; or
  • Establish, exercise, or defend a legal claim.

5. Cookies and Similar Technologies

Podistic does not use advertising cookies or similar technologies to track users across unrelated websites or applications.

Podistic may use cookies, local storage, or similar technologies that are strictly necessary to:

  • Deliver requested functionality;
  • Remember essential technical settings;
  • Maintain security;
  • Balance traffic;
  • Prevent abuse; or
  • Preserve choices made within the Service.

Strictly necessary technologies may operate without consent where permitted by law.

If Podistic introduces non-essential analytics cookies, software development kits, device identifiers, advertising technologies, or similar tracking tools, this Privacy Policy and any relevant cookie notice will be updated. Consent will be requested before those technologies are activated where required by law.

Users will be able to withdraw any consent as easily as it was given.

6. Third-Party Podcast Content and Playback

Podistic is an aggregation, search, and discovery service.

Podcast publishers and podcast-hosting providers create, publish, control, and distribute their own content. Podistic does not create or exercise editorial control over third-party podcast episodes, statements, descriptions, artwork, or other publisher-supplied materials.

Podistic therefore cannot guarantee:

  • The accuracy, legality, suitability, or completeness of podcast content;
  • That a podcast or episode will remain available;
  • That a publisher will continue maintaining its feed;
  • That descriptions, artwork, or episode information are correct;
  • That content will be appropriate for every listener; or
  • That Podistic agrees with any opinion expressed in a podcast.

When you play a podcast, the audio or related resources may be delivered directly from the podcast publisher’s or hosting provider’s servers.

Those third parties may receive technical request information necessary to deliver the requested content. This may include your IP address, device or browser information, the requested audio file, and the date and time of the request.

The third party’s processing is governed by its own terms and privacy practices. Rendly AB does not control the privacy practices of independent podcast publishers or podcast-hosting providers.

Podistic does not claim ownership of podcast content supplied by podcast publishers.

Podcast publishers, rights holders, and other authorised parties may contact privacy@rendly.se regarding:

  • Incorrect podcast listings;
  • Feed changes;
  • Ownership questions;
  • Copyright or trademark concerns;
  • Privacy concerns;
  • Unavailable or outdated content; or
  • Requests to remove a podcast or episode from Podistic.

7. How We Share Information

Rendly AB does not sell or rent personal data.

We do not share personal data for personalised advertising or cross-context behavioural advertising.

Limited information may be processed by or disclosed to the following categories of recipients.

7.1 Hosting and Infrastructure Providers

Podistic uses Hetzner to provide hosting and technical infrastructure.

Hetzner may process limited technical information on behalf of Rendly AB as necessary to host, secure, maintain, and deliver the Service.

7.2 Podcast Publishers and Hosting Providers

When you request a podcast feed, image, episode, or audio file, the relevant publisher or podcast-hosting provider may receive the technical information necessary to respond to that request.

These third parties may act as independent data controllers for their own processing activities.

7.3 Professional Advisers

Information may be disclosed to legal advisers, accountants, auditors, information-security specialists, or other professional advisers where reasonably necessary to obtain professional assistance or protect our legal interests.

7.4 Public Authorities and Legal Recipients

Information may be disclosed to courts, law-enforcement authorities, regulators, government agencies, or other competent parties where disclosure is required by applicable law or a valid and binding legal request.

Service providers processing personal information on behalf of Rendly AB may process it only for the agreed purposes and subject to appropriate contractual, confidentiality, and security obligations.

8. International Data Transfers

Podistic is operated from Sweden but is available worldwide.

Podcast publishers and podcast-hosting providers may operate from countries both inside and outside the European Economic Area.

When a user requests content from an independent podcast publisher or podcast-hosting provider, the request may be sent to and processed in the country where that third party operates.

Where Rendly AB transfers personal data to a service provider outside the European Economic Area, we will use an appropriate transfer mechanism where required by applicable law. Such mechanisms may include:

  • A European Commission adequacy decision;
  • European Commission Standard Contractual Clauses; or
  • Another transfer safeguard permitted under applicable data-protection law.

9. Data Retention

Rendly AB retains personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, subject to the retention periods below.

9.1 Server and Access Logs

Ordinary server and access logs are retained for up to 365 days.

9.2 Technical and Security Logs

Logs required for security monitoring, incident investigation, fraud prevention, or abuse prevention may be retained for up to two years.

Information connected to an active investigation, legal dispute, or security incident may be retained for longer where necessary to complete the investigation or establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

9.3 Support Communications

Support communications are retained for up to five years after the matter has been resolved.

They may be deleted earlier upon request unless continued retention is necessary to comply with a legal obligation, document how a complaint was handled, prevent abuse, or establish, exercise, or defend a legal claim.

9.4 Legally Required Information

Information that must be retained under applicable law is retained for the period required by that law.

9.5 Anonymised Information

Information that has been irreversibly anonymised so that it can no longer be connected to an identifiable person may be retained without a specific time limit.

10. Data Security

Rendly AB uses reasonable technical and organisational safeguards appropriate to the nature and limited amount of information processed through Podistic.

These safeguards may include:

  • Encryption of data in transit;
  • Access controls;
  • Restricted administrative access;
  • Software and security updates;
  • Backups;
  • Logging and security monitoring; and
  • Measures intended to prevent unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.

No online service can guarantee absolute security. Rendly AB cannot promise that unauthorised access, loss, misuse, or disclosure will never occur.

11. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live and whether Rendly AB processes personal data relating to you, you may have the right to:

  • Request confirmation of whether we process your personal data;
  • Obtain access to your personal data;
  • Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal data;
  • Request deletion of your personal data;
  • Request restriction of processing;
  • Object to processing based on legitimate interests;
  • Receive certain personal data in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format where the right to data portability applies;
  • Withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent; and
  • Lodge a complaint with a data-protection authority.

Because Podistic does not maintain user accounts or individual listening histories, we may hold very little information that can be associated with a particular user.

We will not collect additional information solely to identify a person for the purpose of responding to a privacy request. However, we may request limited information where reasonably necessary to verify the identity of the person making a request or locate relevant communications.

To exercise a privacy right, contact: privacy@rendly.se

If you are located in Sweden, you may lodge a complaint with the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection, Integritetsskyddsmyndigheten, commonly referred to as IMY.

Individuals elsewhere in the European Economic Area may also contact the data-protection supervisory authority in the country where they live, work, or believe an infringement occurred.

12. Children’s Privacy

Podistic is a general-audience podcast-discovery service.

Podistic is not designed to collect personal data from children, and Rendly AB does not knowingly create behavioural profiles of children or use children’s activity for advertising.

Podcasts indexed by the Service are produced by independent publishers and may not be suitable for children. Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising the content accessed by children in their care.

A parent or guardian who believes that a child has provided personal information directly to Rendly AB may contact privacy@rendly.se.

13. Privacy Rights Outside the European Economic Area

Users outside the European Economic Area may have additional rights under the privacy laws that apply where they live.

Where applicable, these rights may include the right to:

  • Request access to personal information;
  • Request correction or deletion;
  • Obtain a copy of personal information;
  • Restrict or object to certain processing;
  • Appeal a decision concerning a privacy request; or
  • Opt out of certain sales, sharing, profiling, or targeted advertising activities.

Rendly AB does not sell personal information and does not use personal information for targeted or behavioural advertising.

Requests may be submitted to privacy@rendly.se.

The Service may contain links to podcast websites, publisher pages, hosting providers, social-media pages, and other third-party services.

Rendly AB does not control those third-party services and is not responsible for their privacy, security, content, or data-processing practices.

Users should review the privacy information provided by the relevant third party before submitting personal information or using its services.

15. Changes to This Privacy Policy

Rendly AB may update this Privacy Policy when the Service, our technical practices, our service providers, or applicable legal requirements change.

The latest version will be published on Podistic.com with a revised “Last updated” date.

Where a change materially affects how personal data is processed, we will provide additional notice where reasonably possible or legally required.
